Latest Family Court statistics sees an increase in cases started in the Family Court.

The latest statistics for the period April to June 2021 have been released.

  • Main points:

    • Increase  in the number of cases started in the Family Courts
    • On average, care proceedings took longer with more disposals within 26 weeks.
    • Increase in the average time for divorce proceedings
    • Increase in both divorce petitions and decree absolutes
    • Decrease in both domestic violence remedy applications and orders made.
    • Increase in the number of both adoption applications and orders.
    • Increase in deprivation of liberty applications and orders made.
    • Increase in the proportion of applications for probate grants and probate grants issued made digitally
