The divorce reform project will deliver a new fully digital system for individuals and legal representatives. It will allow people to make an application to legally end a marriage and resolve associated financial issues. At the same time, we are modernising processes in financial remedy. This gives legal professionals the ability to make financial remedy applications.
Key statistics
- more than 100,000 online divorce applications received since the service launched in April 2018
- less than 1% of online divorce applications returned because of user error, compared to 40% with the old system
- 86% of people who used the service rated it as either ‘good’ or ‘extremely good’
