The Department of Education has published the key features of the Children and Families Bill which is set to be introduced in six months time. As well as the consultation on introducing shared parenting legislation, a statutory requirement for parents to attend a Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting prior to issuing any court proceedings involving children, the Department of Education's press release mentions the aim of "freeing up judicial time by allowing legal advisers to process uncontested divorce applications".
The Press Release can be read in full on the DfE website.
