Family Law Tender Chaos

  • Family Law Tender Chaos

The LSC has today announced that they are re-opening tenders for licence-only Family and Family Housing work.

The announcement comes after a number of providers failed to compete the tender bid forms correctly. They were tendering for work to cover the time between the extended Unified Contract and the new contracts which will be introduced as a consequence of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Bill and the LSC has previously stated that they would be unable to intervene.

"there have been constructive discussions between the Law Society, the Legal Aid Practitioners' Group (LAPG), Resolution, formerly the Solicitors' Family Law Association, and the LSC, in an effort to come up with a pragmatic solution.....

.... All parties to the discussions agree that entering protracted and costly litigation would be an unwelcome distraction at the present time for all concerned."

More on who can apply, and how, is available on the LSC website.
